Collection of Children Policy

In line with new Regulations set out by Tees Active the Club have introduced a policy ‘The Collection of Children and 10 Years and Under.

10 Years and Under

For swimmers that are aged 10 years and under, a parent or guardian must be

on the premises during their swim session. The parent or guardian must collect the child after the session is complete as this is the parent/guardian’s responsibility.

Collection of Children

If the parent of a child from the swimming club is not present to collect them, the child must first approach a coach if available or (if by this time everyone has left) a member of the Forum staff. The BASC Child Welfare Officer can be contacted in the event an issue arises whereby their telephone number will be available at Forum reception. A staff member from the Forum will contact the BASC Child Welfare Officer who will in turn contact a member from BASC to attend the Forum to assist in resolving the incident. The child must wait at the reception until they are collected by an appropriate adult or the representative of the Club.

PLEASE NOTE:

Billingham Amateur Swimming Club and the Forum will not take responsibility for children under the age of ten being in the Forum building by themselves. A parent or guardian must be present at all times, however in the event a parent or guardian not present and the above procedure has been followed the police may need to be called.
