I have some bad news to share. Unfortunately Tees Active have cancelled our gala this morning (3rd January 2025) due to an issue at the pool.
For the past week they have had an issue with the a pump on the boiler which resulted in the closure of our pool. The pump was replaced earlier this week and the water was getting back to the correct temperature, and I received assurances from Tees Active that our gala would go ahead this weekend as planned.
However, the boiler has ‘failed’ overnight and is now completely not working, and the pool temperature has plummeted further. Therefore, Tees Active have taken the decision to cancel the gala.
Apologies on behalf of Billingham ASC for this late decision by Tees Active. We are extremely disappointed by this news and we are devastated for the swimmers who were looking forward to this event; but ultimately this decision is out of our hands. Please can you pass on our apologies to all your swimmers and parents.
