NDSA Championships 2022 Important Update

Please see the below importantr message from the Championships Manager:

After consulting with various stakeholders, including the facility management, officials,
volunteers and Clubs, taking into account prevailing Government guidance around
Covid-19, and considering the continued high infection rate across the County, the N&D
Board has decided that there will be no spectators at this year’s Championships. This
decision has been made to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of those essential to the
event, namely the swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers.

Whilst we acknowledge that many will be disappointed by this decision, safety must
come first.

As a result of this decision, we have arranged for the entire Championships to be live
streamed, free of charge, to ensure family members and supporters can still watch the
top swimmers in our County compete.

In addition, everyone aged 18 and over attending the Championships in whatever
capacity must provide evidence of a negative lateral flow test taken within the last 48
hours. Anyone unable to provide such evidence will be refused entry to the venue.
Final arrangements, including Covid-19 measures, will be published next week prior to
the start of the Championships.

Clubs are reminded that the meet conditions require those who hold poolside passes to
have attended a Team Manager Training Course and agree to comply with the relevant
Swim England Child Protection Procedures. Clubs are required to register the names of
their poolside pass holders with ndswimmingentry@hotmail.co.uk by no later than 9
February 2022 to allow checks to be carried out through the Swim England OMS –
Clubs should ensure Team Manager Training has been correctly registered on OMS.

Entries are still being accepted for the Championships and must be submitted by an
authorised Club official using the usual online entry system by no later than 12 noon on
Wednesday 9 February 2022
